Light in the Dark , 2023
charcoal

This artwork is created with black charcoal and colourful acrylic paint roses covering my eyes. The darkness of the charcoal represents how the world often feels to me, dark and gloomy. This affects my mental health, and causes me to be disillusioned by my surroundings. However, the colourful flowers represent how I think positively and try not to let the world’s negativity get me down. They represent all the good things in my life, such as my friends, family and hobbies, all things that help me have a more positive mindset.
