For this work I had many artists for inspiration; such as Fideli Sundqvist, Maud Vantours, Morgana Wallace, Sarah Suplina, and Yulia Brodskaya. Something that inspired me about all of their work was the colours and how they created graceful movement in their work. I got my idea to do a majority of quilling from Yulia Brodskaya. Her work consists of such beautiful movements, and with my theme of Going With Nature, which for me means taking things slow and worrying about the things that I can control, I felt that quilling would portray a more pleasant feeling along with the added plants, fruit, fish, and a calm figure. I chose this idea for my work because it represents how I currently want to be, but I am not there yet. This calm looking figure is meant to show my life goal and how I aspire to be in this peaceful mindset.
