Bio: 39-year-old United States Navy warrior, Law Enforcement Specialist, a master of arms, and first-class Pedi Officer.

Deployed with 21st attachment Navy and Marine Core Mobile Security Forces. I was deployed in the Middle East and Iraq. Left me visually impaired, a TBI, and a Spinal Cord injury.

Impact art has made: Being legally blind; has been tough one on me for putting my visual acuity on putting my vision on canvas using acrylic paint.

The impact art has made on me, is to help me deal with emotions in a positive way. This painting helped me go back on my journey to see how far I have become. Art is just one way to help me through my journey and retell my story.

New Beginnings: I used a lot of details and colors to represent my vision on my rebirth on the day that I died on May 19th and came back and was renewed from that experience. Represents my feelings and how I felt on my deployment, background of downtown Baghdad city skyline, and phoenix rising from my body to battle through injuries, journeys through surgeries, my mental health, and my physical disabilities.
