ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
My digital work is an extension of my more traditional Abstract Expressionist paintings, drawings and prints. This digital print is similar to monotypes I was working on at the time, where the background was a gestural painting with collage elements added. The computer enabled me to go beyond the flat collage and create 3D elements. I have painted backdrops for dance and think of these works as stage sets, where the 3D elements are the dancers. Eventually, I set these elements in motion.

Please note - the actual physical dimensions of this piece are 20 x 32 inch (h x w). The relative size of this work has been adjusted for the purposes of the virtual gallery presentation.
