Observing Eye Movements
120 x 120 x 2.5 cm (h x w x d)

In the "Visual Cognition" lab of the research group led by Prof. Huestegge, a central focus is on the study of cognitive processes underlying visual perception and oculomotor action. To this end, eye movements are measured with high spatial and temporal resolution using a state-of-the-art eye tracking system (here: SR Research EyeLink 1000), which is able to track minute movements of the pupil and of corneal reflections. In particular, the research addresses how perception and action in the visual system is integrated with other cognitive domains (e.g., auditory perception, manual and vocal actions) to orchestrate the complex, multi-modal behavior we encounter in everyday life.
