Sarah Wood’s practice is a process-led, multidisciplinary exploration of our relationship and interactions with the natural landscape.

Wood’s practice aims to cultivate an ever-expansive community of care, to challenge pre-existing structures of thought centred on society’s environmental awareness and associated action.

Exploring the ways in which a place can be experienced through art, 'Aiguille du Midi' was created to bring the Alpine location and Wood’s experiences of Chamonix to a wider audience. The etching on display was created as part of a collection of 14 prints produced after winning the Lynn Chadwick Trust travel award to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in 2015. Spending time exploring the French Alps and the mountainscapes of the surrounding area resulted in the accumulation of 12 months work exploring the ever changing, expansive landscape.

Wood graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2016 with a BA Hons in Fine Art and has since completed an MA in Fine Art at the University of Gloucestershire in May of 2021.

Sarah Wood has received awards in her field, exhibited in a number of group shows and was invited to be part of the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail Residency in 2019. Past sculptural work is held at Showborough House Sculpture Garden.
