David Robertson is inspired by nature. He walks and sketches in the countryside, creating wood engravings from these drawings back in his studio. His favourite places to walk include the rugged North Devon coastline, Dartmoor National Park and Snowdonia. Tipping Point and Lover's Leap are gritstone rock formations found at Brimham Rocks in Yorkshire.

David is an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers and his work is held in public collections at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, Manchester Metropolitan University and CAFA, Beijing, as well as private collections around the world.
