Lucie Graham-Smith is interested in time, emotion, and ambiguity.
Her practice rests in a liminal space. Describing herself as a bricoleur, her work explores the materiality of process, as she moves through multiple disciplines. Painting, collage, sculpture, or print, Lucie will always begin with drawing. Unconscious themes are discovered by allowing the agency of process and materials to uncover submerged and nuanced feelings.
This new set of prints was created over the last four months. They explore human emotions and our sense of time as we move through the world.
Graham-Smith graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2020 with a first class (hons) degree in Illustration. She is currently studying for an MA in Multi-disciplinary Printmaking at UWE Bristol
Exhibiting in Cardiff since 2001 with both solo and group shows, she was resident artist with Arup Cardiff who have a set of her larger paintings of Cardiff Bay.
