Rosey Prince’s work focuses on urban landscapes inspired by walks around or near London where she lives and works. She is interested in the uneasy relationship between the semi-rural and semi-industrial and how we relate and identify with these areas and their inevitable transience. Since the arrival of Covid-19 last year, memory and emotion has become much more dominant in her work and the prints submitted reflect this change in how the world is seen and understood.

Working in drypoint, mezzotint and monotype, the work is about spending time in a location and interpreting the place through memory back in her studio.

Primarily a printmaker she has been a member of Artichoke Printmakers since 2010 and since 2019 has been part of Turps Correspondence course, a mentoring programme in painting. She has exhibited widely including a number of prestigious exhibitions such as Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2013, 2017), Discerning Eye (2015), National and Original Print Exhibition 2018, 2019 (winning the East London Printmakers Prize in 2019), The Masters: Etching, Bainbridge Open Print Exhibition (winning the Framing Library Prize in 2018) and has exhibited at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2017, 2018 and 2020 (winning the John Purcell Prize in 2017).
