James Randell (b.1992) is a London-based printmaker and multidisciplinary artist-educator. He is currently an Intaglio Fellow at Bainbridge Print. James amasses narrative material from comic books, religious pamphlets and found objects to construct strange new stories through bricolage and etching. These etchings are worked and reworked like paintings, becoming dense and textured. His images say something about the end of the world, a small and crumbling England and fragile masculinity. In 2021, James has been featured in Pressing Matters and Fieldnotes journal, as well as working on a collaborative residency with artist David Manley at Hart Club, an organisation championing neurodiversity in the arts.
