Photogram using the Lumen printing method. Using out-of-date silver gelatin B&W photographic paper, Ilfobrom Velvet stipple, I placed the Wonga vine on top of the paper. I put them into a printing frame (glass & backing board), using bulldog clips to give a good contact. Exposed in the sun for 3 ½ hours. I really like the 3D effect and am delighted with the soft hues of pinks and blues. These images are scanned, but not yet fixed, as sadly, when they are, a lot of the colour can fade.
In my photography, I mainly use alternative photographic processes for printing, such as Cyanotype, Gum bichromate, Vandyke brown, Chrysotype (gold) and recently Platinum/palladium.

When I’m taking photos, I pre-visualise the image in one of the processes above, and am delighted when the final image matches my vision for that subject. I use various cameras from digital, infrared, but the favourite at the moment is my 5” x 4” Zero Image pinhole camera. I have just purchased a 10” x 8” Zero Image pinhole, so can’t wait to get it.
