ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

"A Different Perspective" is a short film in a slideshow format that showcases his process of photographing the world's emotions and communicates his appreciation for them, in ways words could never express. The photos are accompanied by his interpretation of an arrangement of "The Nearness of You" played on alto saxophone. The intentional joining of his two artistic passions recognizes different perspectives of what nature, the creation, can uniquely symbolize to all different types of people.

Khalil Kassam is a fourteen-year-old aspiring nature photographer from Ottawa, Ontario. He also plays alto saxophone, under the direction of his musical mentors, Sheri Harrington, Simone Gendron, and Davina Pearl for five years, participating in MusicFest Canada and several other performances. As he explores his passions further, he strives to test artistic boundaries using new techniques to better understand the world's natural beauty, Allah's creation, through a different perspective.
