Location: former medical camp/sick camp 
Technique: The negatives were boiled, die-cut, and perforated before exposure. The photographs were taken at different times of day, the tripod was not moved.  
Concept: A work commemorating Peter van Pels was created for the presentation at St. Katharinen, Dom St.Petrus, and Felix Nussbaum Haus in Osnabrück, Germany. Peter van Pels was transferred from Auschwitz to the “Quarz” mine tunnels in Roggendorf in Lower Austria and died on May 10, 1945, in the Mauthausen sick camp shortly after its liberation. The two works show a view of the location of the former sick camp, which no longer exists. Only a few privileged prisoners received medical attention there. The camp deemed all critically ill inmates and those unfit for work useless. They were killed by SS doctors or left to their own devices in a separate camp area.
