Timepieces and Bracelets , Unknown
Jewelry

The Chinese bracelets and timepieces belonged to Lillian Ho Wong, born in 1895 in Vancouver’s Chinatown. The timepiece on the far right has Lillian’s Chinese name engraved into the back. Lillian mainly wore Western clothes throughout her lifetime, and her 1920s wardrobe was full of beaded, glamourous dresses. However, her Western fashion is juxtaposed with Chinese clothing accessories. A portrait of 16-year-old Lillian shows her wearing a Western white blouse with two timepieces.
