We live in a time of impatience. Our present culture, fueled by social media, is result-oriented and obsessed with trends, whether they be fashionable or political in nature. But a tipping point or paradigm shift takes time ... often years of building to arrive in a place where it is fully realized. Even something as catastrophic as an asteroid has traveled light years towards impact. Although its effect is shocking and seemingly out of nowhere, there is a huge gap between initiation and final destination. Such is true of our climate crisis. We know we are hurtling towards a fatal destiny. What will we do with this last bit of space in between? It only takes 25% of the population to shift conventional thinking. It is not the big picture we need to focus on, but the immediate one before our face. "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". Each and every one of us has a responsibility to make our choices mean something. As artists, especially, it is our job to throw a light into the darkness. Combined, we can tip the balance ... This is dedicated to my father, who instilled in me the love of storytelling whatever the medium. He was, above all, a warrior for the light.
