Mixed media print

Solaris is a set of three mixed-media prints depicting an abstraction of the sun stripped down to the fundamental, basic geometry. The images are built out of analog black and white photos shot on grainy, high sensitivity film from an airplane above clouds over the Gulf of Finland.

Laid on top of the photos are variations of circular and triangular digital illustrations. I'm evoking something common to us all. Our star, Sol, is what our world literally revolves around. Relationship to the sun is built deep into our being, and because of that certain combinations of colors and shapes are universally linked to this connection.
