PROJEKTBESCHREIBUNG
Da ich mich schon immer sehr für die Astronomie interessiert habe, male ich auch ab und an Bilder zu diesem
Themenkreis. In diesem Falle handelt es sich um die „Säulen der Schöpfung“, wie sie ihr Entdecker selbst tituliert
hat. Diese Objekte befinden sich im Adlernebel im Sternbild Schlange und sind etwa 7000 Lichtjahre von uns
entfernt. Es sind Gaswolken, die zum überwiegenden Teil aus Wasserstoff bestehen und durch Gravitation sowie
Aufheizung entstehen in diesen Gebieten ständig neue Sterne.
In Bezug auf das Ausstellungsthema kann man also sagen, dass Wasserstoff auch für das lebensnotwendige Licht
sorgt, denn auch unsere Sonne „verbrennt“ Wasserstoff zu Helium und ein Teil dieser freiwerdenden Energie wird in
Form von Licht abgegeben, inklusive an unsere Erde.
Daher ist der Name „Säulen der Schöpfung“ in mehrfacher Hinsicht sehr treffend, abgesehen davon, dass diese
kosmischen Gebilde auch außergewöhnlich in Form und Farbe sind, die sie für ein Kunstwerk geradezu prädestiniert
– was ich mit meinem Bild versucht habe, umzusetzen.
DESCRIPTION
Since I have always been very interested in astronomy, I occasionally paint pictures related to this subject. In this case,
it is about the „Pillars of Creation,“ as their discoverer himself titled them. These objects are located in the Eagle Nebula
in the constellation Serpens and are about 7,000 light-years away from us. They are gas clouds consisting mainly of
hydrogen, and new stars are constantly forming in these areas due to gravity and heating.
In relation to the exhibition theme, it can be said that hydrogen also provides the essential light for life because our
sun, too, „burns“ hydrogen to helium, and a portion of this released energy is emitted in the form of light, including to
our Earth.
Therefore, the name „Pillars of Creation“ is very fitting in multiple respects, aside from the fact that these cosmic
structures are also extraordinary in shape and color, making them particularly suitable for artwork, which I have
attempted to convey with my painting.
