Heavy Hearted is a poem collection illustrated in black, white, and one pastel color. You should be advised before picking up the book if you find themes depicting sexual and mental traumas painful. Working and finishing this book was quite therapeutic. The poems came out naturally and Keskitalo found herself unraveling a messy ball of ribbon hidden deep inside her thoughts. When the poems were ready and written down, she created illustrations to accompany them. She chose a style that would gently dress bittersweet words.
