Red-figure vase painting is one of the typical expressions of the Greek high culture. Not only on the Peloppones, but in all provinces and colonies, this sort of pottery was widespread. Fried fish was served with the meal, and in the hollow in the middle a portion of olive oil. This is still the case today in many typical restaurants.
