Sisyphus I
42 x 29.7 cm (h x w)
Photography

Inspired by the work of Caravaggio, particularly his interpretation of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and by the greek ‘Myth of Sisyphus’ as well as Albert Camus’ interpretation of this ancient myth, this photo series seeks to encapsulate the historically-pertinent and universal struggle engaged by humans in their quest to explain existential uncertainty. Particularly, this piece addresses concerns pertaining to the crushing, looming presence of pain and tension.
