The series of works Toi Rārangi explore line. Toi Rārangi translates to line art in Te Reo. Renee has been making works with lines for many years and sees a relationship between lines in her paintings and whenu (or weaving strips) used in rāranga (weaving). Renee usually applies the lines in order from left to right and continues until the surface is full. This way of making reminds her of the order and structure found in rāranga.
