STORY:
The smooth slopes of Mount Denali glow magically pink in the half gleam of an Alaskan night. I had been told this time of year was bad for photography, as the mountain was normally obscured by cloud. But I had a peace in my heart about attempting a visit. We camped at Denali and used mountain bikes to reach this location overlooking the placid waters of Wonder Lake. The sky was clear. We watched in awe as a full moon rose on one side of the mountain and completed a low arc over the top before setting on the other side. It was an intensely beautiful view, with its deep reflected glory and its colors as rich as sapphire – the sort of scene that will forever stay etched upon our minds.
