Lewis Andrews is a Fine Artist based in Leeds, United Kingdom. His work specialises in dealing with complex thoughts, ideas and facts within nature and science. Some explore those in which we seem to be overshadowed and overpowered in comparison by the vast distances, size or quantities. Others investigate moments of extreme power, creation and rebirth on a molecular scale or on a scale comparable to that of the universe. Questioning our relationships, place and role within the universe, environment and natural spaces.

Summer is a great time to talk about our nearest star. Life giving light and heat traverse vast distances every second of every day to bathe our planet in photons of light. Driving vital processes such as photosynthesis, the journey these photons take and the violent nuclear fusion process that takes place within the core of our sun producing these photons is often forgotten while we sunbathe. If you do think about it, the sun is just under 93 million miles away, however you can feel the heat on your skin. The sun generates the same amount of energy many times that of earths nuclear arsenal, every second. The light is still so intense when it reaches earth, you can't look at the sun directly without injury to your eyes. A gentle reminder of the power our sun possesses.
