Three birds adorn this Guro Dance Mask -- one facing front in the center, and two facing inward toward the central figure. They are placed on a low platform at the top of the mask. Underneath one can see the hair in a triple bang with a double part. Around the face is a circular rim decorated with painted circles. The central bird is feeding on river or lake fish as the other two keep watch. This signifies abundance and watchfulness against tribal raids, famine, plague and other catastrophes.
