Millions of lives are at risk as Yemeni children face one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Prior to the Ukrainian war, Yemen was projected to reach the highest level of hunger that the world has seen in decades. Yemen relies almost entirely on imported food, with more than half of its wheat coming from the Ukraine–Russia region. Yemen’s deteriorating economy paired with increased global wheat shortages and higher wheat, fuel, and shipping costs will continue to drive food insecurity in the country.
