This artwork is based on my theme of “Greed”. The monopoly man is a symbol of power and seen as the “top dog” otherwise known as a higher up official in the corporate world. He is the ‘Game master ‘ meaning he runs the board game called “Monopoly” where he ‘controls’ the game under his own jurisdiction and authority. He is seen on my image as walking over the tiles seen in monopoly, before he gets to the city which is on the next tile. Him ‘walking’ over the city is a representative of how the higher up officials are seen to use and abuse us as a part of the ‘Game’ for their own Greed and profit. In the bottom right I wrote in graffiti letters Monday-Friday, and the ‘mottos’ and ‘values’ that people are living by such as ‘Slave, Work, pay check, pay check = Money!, Happy?’ showing how we are controlled by this form of currency, and letting it dictate out lives. The boardgame is shaped in a rectangle symbolic of how it’s a ‘never ending cycle’ of life and each new tile is a ‘new!’ tile with a new rule, COMPLETELY dictated by the ‘Gamemaster’, Mr Monopoly Man.
