The subject matter of this work is a genderless figure who is seemingly falling into the abyss. The idea for this piece is to represent what happens to someone’s soul at death. This can be seen by the translucent figure that looks as if it is emerging or transpiring from the body. I was able to demonstrate the ideology of souls transitioning after death through showing a form of detachment in a single visual frame. This is represented by the split figure as it’s so called ‘soul’ is leaving it, rising above, whilst the body stays where it is.
