Vessel #7
Digital rayograph/scan on acid free giclee print

Raised in Athens and currently a practising architect, I have been immersed in the world of photography for over a decade. After moving to Scotland for my studies, my exposure to the vibrant music scene of Glasgow allowed me to get involved with concert photography which brought some commissions for documenting local and international bands. My photographic practice focuses on observing my subjects; it is instinctive and spontaneous, but also at times more experimental and abstract, when shifting to analogue means or techniques such as rayographs, aiming to give ‘purpose’ to mundane objects found around the house.

‘Vessels’ is an ongoing project of rayographs/digital scans made using glass vessels found around the house, coming together in an attempt to challenge the viewer with the contrasting subjects and spatial settings they occur in. Different perspectives of the multifaceted world, aim to evoke defined but also ambiguous sensations, in pursuit of aligning formal and informal moments, forms and feelings. The lack of balance is prominent and triggers a feeling of motion that the eyes can’t help but follow in a short trip of trying to recognize familiar forms and patterns.
