George Koutsouvelis is a self-taught photographer, a certified instructor in Adobe Photoshop editing software, a digital creator and at the same time he teaches computer science in the city of Athens, Greece, where he lives, works and creates. His journey into the magical world of imagery began by photographing with analog cameras and developing film in the darkroom. In the digital era, for his personal projects, he uses whatever camera is available but mainly his mobile phone. He uses Photography as the medium to express his impression of reality. He in not a documentarian. He thinks of himself as a maker of visions, dreams and a few nightmares. When he photographs, he is more interested in capturing the "feel" and the “atmosphere” of the subject, and not simply recording a fact. Time and place are not important in his frames. His work has been published and showcased in many international exhibitions (indicatively: Image Nation Milan: The New Aesthetics, Indian Photography Festival 2021, Saatchi Gallery, london: On Rain, Venus Gallery Mykonos: Reflect on me), private collections, online and printed magazines (indicatively: Photonet Magazine, Edge of Humanity). In 2020 his work won the first place in the category "The Darkness/Noir" of the prestigious international MPA (Mobile Photo Awards) competition.
