Egyptian Cat Statue
Carved Stone

In the ancient Egyptian world, cats were known as deities and pets for more than 3000 years. Some cat-like gods represented justice, power and fertiliy.
Cats were kept in homes to keep poisonous snakes away, as well as mice and other pests.
They were widely rerpresented as temple statues, and also found resting places as cat-mummies in their own cemeteries for thousands of years.
