Not Alone , 2022
48 x 36 in (h x w)

I have a fascination for aliens, for the concept of something foreign,, unknown, something to explore that needs to be discovered. Not necessarily going to outer space (that's another story), but I like to think of it as something inside us, within each other. Tapping into those alien feelings, emotions, hidden parts of us. This really attracts me. The concept of “Not Alone” came from feeling lonely at times, but having all these screens with multiple immediate stimuli just at our fingertips. Acquaintances, friends, family or even strangers telling us how good we are at something, how beautiful we look. We feel like "the people out there love us", "everyone " online understands us, but what's around us in this so-called reality? Who is by our side?
The more I explore this, the more I understand, all I have unconditionally is me and building a stronger relationship with myself is what I'm working on. The better I am for me, to me, the best I can be for the world around me.
Are you alone? How does this question make you feel?
