"Christopher Moons love of narrative and the power of story has seen him work on numerous character development projects and story creation both in his own artistic practice, and in his professional role as a toy designer.

Using his own detailed sketches as reference, Moon creates a tension between characters and elements leading to numerous possible narratives and various outcomes. He uses hard ground for detailed drawing and soft ground to add texture as well as aquatint and spit bite for depth.

Moons collection is based on the hidden thoughts and fears of his subjects, balanced on the precipice of horror and uncertainty. He combines the elements of play, nostalgia, class, and the grit and work ethic of his upbringing.
Sitting between the joy of play and the pain of everyday life, Moons work combines all these elements to bring an undercurrent of foreboding to otherwise unassuming characters.

Moon studied printmaking at evening class at Central St. Martins and continued his practice at London Print Studio, exhibiting in many group exhibitions internationally including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. His etchings have won the John Purcell Award and he continues his practice experimenting in other forms of printmaking, photography and drawing."
