"Liza Kelly�s work explores the minutiae of the everyday through a mix of observation and imagination.

Beginning with drawings of observed places, spaces, people and objects, she then lets memory and imagination take over as the image develops, sometimes adding other playful elements. Strange scale, imagined perspectives, close up details, left behind objects, passing time, routine, people lost in their own worlds. Together these subjects create unexpected and sometimes humorous images.

Liza�s recent series of prints, Night & Day, was produced in 2023 and is based on drawn explorations of her own environment gathered over the course of the previous year. The work explores the small thoughts and experiences that make up the routine of life. These works are experimental tetrapak prints, combining drypoint, collograph and collage techniques, produced on her small studio press.

Liza graduated in 1996 from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin, with a BA in Fine Art Printmaking. During 2022 she completed the Online Drawing Development Year at the Royal Drawing School, London. She also holds an MA in Professional Design Practice.

Liza has exhibited in group shows both in Ireland and internationally, most recently in 2023 with her art collective, Studio 22, at the Gallery at Green & Stone, London. Her work is held in private collections in Europe, the USA and China."
