"Time and how it changes the visual and emotional landscape is an important part of Annabel MacIvers work. She is rarely bound by one medium as she feels that each relates to or leads to another, but printmaking is an integral part of her work. The exhibited print is from, Bird, a body of work which consists of print, paintings, ceramic sculpture and poetry. It investigates themes around freedom, death and ultimately the legacy of a life lived. Bird evolved after MacIver found a mummified bird in an abandoned fireplace.

In 'Fall like the Touch of Autumn VII' she used a handmade, disintegrating plate, to embody the silence of the fall of feathers and the slow turning to dust, it is part of a consecutive series of monotypes. Titles of all works in this series come from the words of her poetry which is threaded loosely through an artist book of etchings, printed on gampi paper, the words are free to fall.

Annabel recently exhibited in her first solo exhibition and has also taken part in many group exhibitions, including the RA Summer Exhibition, RWA, and SWA. She is currently a print associate and part-time teacher in print, drawing and painting at the Art Academy, London and is due to start an MA in print at the Royal College of Art in September 2023."
