"Today, you may have me, but tomorrow I may be gone.
Yesterday I loved you, but tomorrow you may not have me".
This multimedia project is a personal journey to self-discovery. I want to confront the reality that relationships can sometimes harm more than help.
I collected all the pictures I had and made different collages. I experimented with digital printing and was creative in the darkroom using cyanotype and contact printing techniques. I then tore up the new prints and re-created different collages, bringing them back to life with weaving techniques and digital scanning. Finally, I created a video diaporama with my voice and instrumental music.
Getting out of a toxic relationship is not easy. However, it is important to recognise the problem and be motivated to leave. I hope that sharing my experiences will encourage others to learn from my mistakes and recognise when a relationship is no longer healthy, especially for young people or those in their first relationship, as toxic relationships can start at a young age and leave lasting damage.
This project was challenging to create because it forced me to face the painful reality of my situation. By experimenting creatively to tell my love story, I face the truth that sometimes, no matter how much we love someone, we cannot force a relationship to work if it is not meant to be.
