Woke Up Too Early For Love compliments French Dreams Series (Rêves Français). I am studying the concept of Perfection which is often perceived as an obligatory ingredient of Happiness. The painting bears the lightness of “art de vivre” that lives in the air of Parisian studios, Provencale fields, and French Riviera mornings. The first glimpse of a new day’s dawn as seen by morning people just before the world wakes up, the aftertaste of sweet dreams and expectation of upcoming magic. The painting is created a la prima with oil colours linking my art to the historical traditions of impressionists who depict the eternal beauty of humans and nature. I am rethinking their heritage to create my path toward the conscious pursuit of Happiness.
Turbulent times make us strive for eternal values. My paintings are my research of the world's transformation from self-destruction to re-creation that humanity is passing now, the way towards the conscious pursuit of Happiness. I am using the metaphor of Bluebird as a metamodernist image engaging the process of transformation. Its symbolic meaning that has been accumulated through centuries stays meaningful in modern times. A bird with blue feathers is seen as the harbinger of Happiness and Hope in pantheons of ancient and contemporary cultures including Chinese Dynasties, Native American tribes, modern music, and literature. People keep chasing the Bluebird and its vibes in elusive moments of our daily lives.
I am turning to impressionists' fundamentals, their challenge to capture flashes of emotions, memories, and dreams. Re-thinking their approach I am using two similar but conceptually different mediums separately or together. Vivid full-bodied images are created with oil colours linking my art to historical traditions of depicting the eternal beauty of humans and nature. Acrylic as a modern material implements a synthetic canvas of our current living within artificial news and sublimated identities. Abstracts - in both oil and acrylic - make an important complement to the general concept of my art reflecting deeper feelings and background emotions evoked by the world around me.
Through the combination of eternal and modern elements, the pursuit of Happiness in my art becomes a key to inner and outer Balance. I wish my Bluebird helps people to live through turbulent times and teaches all of us to treasure moments of Joy, celebration Beauty, and value of Life as they are.
