I wanted to depict a blind boy given the opportunity to see. The boy was surrounded by darkness, shown by the pitch dark background. Therefore, when a donor donated their vision, it was like a new discovery, a new world. It was a different form of sight for him. I printed his hands in a 'taking a picture' pose with a light beam extending out from his hands. It was to emphasize the world of his coming to life. His world that used to be covered by his blindness. The eye symbolises his transformative journey - The beginning of a chapter but this time it was not empty. I wanted to create the scenery he saw distorted because he was taking his time to adjust to his new field of vision. I wanted to create the overwhelming feeling the boy felt. The once blind boy, can now see. Your contribution and kind act created 'The New Discovery'.
