I paint as an expression of my visceral desire to create an image of how I feel in the fullness of the moment. Our emotions provoke me to visually express them in all the variations we all experience. Striving in each gestural abstract to achieve simplicity, my ongoing journey is to capture and embrace the spirit, thereby allowing the viewer to join and live it in the moment. Alcohol ink is fluid, vivid and has motion. It can be translucent or opaque. The spontaneity of alcohol ink moves me forward as I create each piece. Reverse painting on plexiglass and glass absolutely challenges and fascinates me. On the other hand, painting on paper and canvas is a welcome change.
