In much of what I photograph there is almost always a figure. Sometimes this is for scale, sometimes they are the subject. Sometimes it is the disconnect between the figure and their environment. Often I do not see this until reviewing my work much later. But whether the figure is a silhouette, a close up, a portrait, or a shadow, it is an essential ingredient.
