As a watercolor artist and illustrator, I draw inspiration from the re-invented and romanticized past. My work captures and redefines the whimsical allure of European art from the late 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century, blending styles and epochs in a playful manner. I invite my audience on a timeless trip filled with romantic nostalgia, exploring themes of femininity, love, beauty, pleasure, and fantasy. Manonboudoir is not just my pen name; it's the delicate powder pink world of reverie I created in 2017. Inspired by the novel "Manon Lescaut," my character, Princess Manon, and her white cat Gigi celebrate life and its beauty in the little moments. My artistic inspirations range from the sophisticated artistry of the Ancien Régime to the poetic sensibility of female artists like Berthe Morisot and Marie Laurencin. Through watercolor, I seek to create illustrations reminiscent of daydreams, filled with the atmosphere of joie de vivre. Bringing together the real and imaginary, my goal is to create a joyful, rose-colored world that celebrates beauty and unapologetic femininity.
