My late grandfather, Pavel Zywaczewski formerly of Horodenka in the West of Ukraine, was the most musical person I have ever known. My childhood was spent listening to him singing and playing music, watching him Cossack dancing. He had no formal music training, but he could pick up any instrument and instantly play a tune. he loved his record player, and the portable tape deck was his pride and joy. He is the reason for my eclectic taste in music, the reason I became a music teacher, the reason for this piece. I wish I could share it with him. For me, this piece is who I am, the reason I stand tall!

This fused glass block consists of layers of screen-printed glass depicting the music of renowned Ukrainian composer Nicola Lissenko and traditional Ukrainian dancers.
