We can all be astronauts by rediscovering and building our new world.

Après la pandémie COVID-19 et le confinement, il est temps pour nous de réexplorer notre monde, par les mobilités vertes. Comme l’astronaute, nous devenons tous des aventuriers cherchant à redécouvrir notre planète. #Stayathome 2.0 fait référence à notre volonté de rester sur Terre, notre “maison”. L’astronaute peut ainsi redécouvrir cette planète qui est sienne et la protéger pour éviter une autre crise mondiale au lieu de partir à la conquête de l’espace.
L’image d’un astronaute aujourd’hui perçue par le public a deux côtés : l’image d’un explorateur de l’espace, et l’image d’une personne brillante, héroïque. Nous avons voulu détourner un de ses deux aspects et garder le second. Nous sommes tous les astronautes de notre improbable monde d’après : nous ne sommes plus les êtres qui découvrent l’espace mais bien ceux qui protègent et prennent soin de la Terre (symbolisée par notre Arche de Noé utopique).

In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent confinement measures, it is high time for us to reexplore our world through green modes of transportation. Like the astronaut, we are all becoming explorers looking to discover and rediscover our planet.
#Stayathome 2.0 refers to our wish to stay on Earth, our home. The astronaut can therefore rediscover this planet which is his/hers and protect it to prevent another global crisis instead of leaving to pursue the space quest.
Today, the public pictures astronauts in two ways: as a space explorer, and as a brilliant and heroic person. We wished to divert one of those two perspectives and keep the second one. In our art piece, we wanted to show that in the world after tomorrow, we can all be astronauts by being brilliant people, and taking care of our home. In the world after tomorrow, the astronaut is not the one that discovers and analyzes space, but the one that takes care of Earth (embodied by our Noah’s Ark).
