This man was working at a cotton mill in the state of Maharashtra in central India. Here, the workers starched cotton thread and then wound it on a giant bobbin. The bobbin would be taken to a nearby textile mill and woven into white cloth by an automatic loom. In this old factory filled with a cloud of cotton dust, the man’s figure was illuminated by strong rays of sunlight entering from the high windows. (Maharashtra, India 2018)
