Silence the Breath is Precious , 2020
56 x 38 cm (h x w)
Mixed Media on Black Somerset Paper

Breathing happens unconsciously; we rarely think about the process until we can’t. The title comes from a Persian phrase, “Sokout dam ghanimat ast”. It is a command to observe silence with the explanation: if we do not attain the state of silence, our precious life – symbolised by our breath – is wasted.
