This drawing by Raquel Forner synthesizes abstraction, surrealism and expressionism to create a landscape that seems to defy time, space, and gravity inhabited by amorphous otherworldly creatures. Beginning in the late 1950s, Forner turned her focus from earthly conflicts such as war and strife towards an interest in science fiction and space travel. Like other artists of that generation, she begins exploring frontiers beyond earth, where technological developments and imagination provide hope and inspiration.
