"In 'Bloom' I wanted to capture an intimate moment of self reflection and growth. In a society that profits from our self doubt, self love is a revolutionary act. The journey to self love is not always easy—fear, doubt, and other emotions sometimes cloud our judgement about who we are. When we finally see and accept ourselves for who we truly are, we are able to nurture our mind, body, and spirit. This allows us to navigate through the overlapping patriarchal structures set in place, with confidence about our self worth and purpose in life."

Diana L. Sanchez is a Los Angeles based artist from Lennox, California. She specializes in figurative works and expressive illustrations. She works with an array of traditional mediums primarily gouache and acrylic paint. She obtained her BFA in Illustration from California State University Long Beach.
