Memories: 10567 Acme Road , 2017
14 x 11 in (h x w)
Watercolor Monoprint

The home where I lived since the day I was born was demolished in the winter of 2018. This upheaval pushed me to undergo a detailed, emotional, documentation of the space where twenty years’ worth of my love and belonging had been invested. Through writing, erasing, drawing, and painting on paper, I embarked on a process of achieving personal closure with the inevitable, the resulting body of work sought to memorialize and celebrate the innumerable happy memories that were created in my beloved childhood home. This particular piece, Memories: 10567 Acme Road, is a stylized representation of the home and its unruly garden, captured in a monoprint painted with watercolors and Caran D’ache crayons on smooth, hot-pressed paper.
