Pineapple #38 , 2021

My works over time has been on combining the Ona art styles, motifs and technique which is an artistic model of Yoruba civilization with Expressionism collage style and technique to document and promote the myths, mythology, folklores and folktales of my tribe (Yoruba) and Africa in general. Ona which means Design is one of the artistic movements of the many fruits or harvest emanating from the natural synthesis theory of the late 1950s in Nigeria contemporary art. Yoruba people of South-Western Nigeria constitute one of the strongest and largest cultural groups in Africa South of the Sahara, descendants of great ancestry and progeny of notable tradition.
