“Childhood Fantasies” is inspired by my Honduran cultural background, and how being excluded from it, due to uncontrollable reasons, has led to identity conflicts and formed a desire to experience Honduras, constant throughout my childhood. Photographs by my father inspired the landscapes I oil painted: distant desire, in a realistic style and present childhood, drawn through childish attributes. The contrast in styles emphasises the split nature between desired and actual reality.
