Boredom
45 x 75 cm (h x w)
Chinese ink on xuan paper

This series depicts a wave of people, losing themselves and going with the flow. Serious and bored, their silence reveals the sadness of being helpless in the face of today's gilded collective consciousness and socially defined values. The painting is inspired by the Chinese emerging artistic concept, cynical realism, and absorbed the style in which Ukiyo-e examined the society. It aims to portray the mentally controlled state of the students in contemporary China.
